On 10/10/24, the WI DOA Secretary's Office received a correspondence from the plaintiff's attorney at MUNICIPAL LAW & LITIGATION GROUP, S.C. regarding their "City of Lake Geneva v. Village of Bloomfield, et al (24CV441) - Notice of Commencement of Action" filed at the Walworth County Circuit Court on 07/18/24 pursuant to WI Stats. s.806.04, challenging the terms of the Village's and Town's Intergovernmental Cooperative Agreement adopted pursuant to WI Stats. s.66.0301(6)(a), executed on 05/20/24. An "Amended Complaint" was filed on 07/30/24. Requested relief includes a declaration that the Town/Village boundaries revert to their condition and location prior to the execution of said Agreement. Those court complaint documents have been appended to the back of the originally filed Town/Village Intergovernmental Cooperative Agreement documents filed here. - Jim Y.
A specific new Village of Bloomfield Corporate Boundaries' legal description was not included in this intergovernmental agreement; only the Map document in Exhibit B depicts the intended new legal boundary for the Village after the enactment of a subsequent/pending WI Stats. s.66.0301(6)(c) attachment ordinance. The Exhibit C document pages only include a list of the Town parcels to be transferred to the Village by a subsequent/pending WI Stats. s.66.0301(6)(c) attachment ordinance's adoption, no legal description of that pending attachment territory.
