MBR #14570 found the annexation petition to not be in the public interest. On 06/23/2023, Town of Washington filed a second lawsuit challenging the 04/03/2023 annexation. Pursuant to a "Settlement Agreement" (pdf attached to original ordinance filing documents), effective 12/15/2023, the Eau Claire County Circuit Court filing was dismissed with prejudice. There is a mention of a 02/16/2011 "Intergovernmental Agreement" therein but no such document has been filed with the WI DOA. - Jim Y. Per an Eau Claire County Circuit Court challenge filed by the Town of Washington, Circuit Court Judge Emily Long agreed with the Town in a summary judgement action on 02/14/2023 determining that the annexation via City ordinance #7467 was invalid/voided.] - Jim Y.
